What Is DOORS?

DOORS is a multiplayer roguelike horror game on Roblox developed by LSPLASH in collaboration with Redibles. Since launching in 2022, it has become one of the most iconic horror games on the platform — inspiring countless YouTube videos, TikTok clips, and a passionate community.

Inspired by games like Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion and Spelunky, DOORS puts you in a procedurally generated hotel (and later, mines) where you must navigate through 100+ numbered doors, survive hostile entities, solve puzzles, and reach the end alive.

Why play DOORS?

  • Tense, atmospheric horror with clever entity design
  • Procedurally generated runs — every playthrough is unique
  • Deep entity roster with unique warning signs and survival mechanics
  • Puzzle-solving (code-breaking, memory games, item hunts)
  • Multiplayer co-op — revive teammates and share resources
  • Multiple floors and game modes for endless replayability
  • 87+ achievements to collect

All Hotel Entities

Rush

WarningLights flicker/dim
SurvivalHide in nearest locker or behind a bed immediately
Danger★★

Rush is the first entity you’ll encounter and the most common. When lights flicker, don’t panic — find the closest hiding spot and get in. The key is speed, not perfection.

Ambush

WarningLights flicker for LONGER than Rush
SurvivalHide in locker; it bounces back MULTIPLE times — stay hidden until all passes end
Danger★★★

The entity that kills most beginners. Unlike Rush, Ambush doesn’t just pass once — it returns several times. Players who peek between passes get caught. Stay hidden until you’re absolutely sure it’s gone.

Screech

WarningWhispering sound in dark rooms
SurvivalQuickly look around (move your mouse/camera) to scare it away
Danger

Simple encounter — if you hear whispering in a dark room, spin your camera rapidly. Don’t overthink it.

Seek

WarningCutscene triggers at Door 50
SurvivalRun the chase; follow glowing arrows and hands for direction; jump over fallen furniture
Danger★★★

Seek triggers a long hallway chase sequence. The key is to follow the glowing guidance (arrows, floating hands) and jump over obstacles. Don’t try to fight back — just run.

Figure (Door 50 & Door 100)

WarningHeavy breathing sound; you hear it approaching
SurvivalCrouch-walk to stay quiet; hide in closets when it’s close; hold breath (hold Space)
Danger★★★★

Figure is the most complex entity in The Hotel. There are two encounters:

Door 50 — The Library: You need to find books with shape symbols, translate them to numbers using a chart, and enter the code to unlock the door. Figure hunts you during this process.

Door 100 — The Electrical Room: Final boss. Circuit breaker memory puzzle — a pattern of switches is briefly shown, and you need to replicate it. Memorize and match the pattern.

Key tips for Figure:

  • Always crouch-walk when Figure is active — running makes noise
  • Hide in closets when you hear it approaching
  • Hold Space to hold your breath when Figure is very close

Dupe

WarningMultiple doors in one room with different numbers
SurvivalOnly enter the door with the correct number matching the room count
Danger★★

Simple but deadly. Count which door you should be on, then only enter that door. Wrong doors = damage.

Halt

WarningGlitching visuals in long hallway
SurvivalRun BACKWARD the way you came, then forward again
Danger★★

Counterintuitive mechanic — you need to go backward first. Many players die because they try to push forward.

Eyes

WarningFloating eyeballs visible in rooms
SurvivalWalk around them; touching causes damage
Danger

Snare

WarningDistorted door texture (subtle visual cue)
SurvivalDon’t walk through doors with suspicious textures
Danger★★

Guiding Light (Friendly)

AppearanceBlue light beams
EffectHeals, gives hints, revives players
NotesHelpful entity — follow it!

Timothy (Minor)

WarningOpening a drawer
EffectSmall spider jumpscare; minor HP damage
Danger

The Mines (Floor 2: Doors 101-200)

The Mines is significantly more challenging than The Hotel. Access it from the Lobby (Rock Bottom badge) or after completing The Hotel.

Puzzle Solutions

Library Safe Code (Door 50)

  1. Enter The Library and collect scattered books
  2. Each book contains shape symbols that correspond to numbers
  3. Find the door with a code lock and reference chart
  4. Translate shapes → numbers using the chart
  5. Enter the number combination to unlock

Pro tip: Camp before the library for 3-4 minutes so Guiding Light spawns and guides you through the puzzle.

Circuit Breaker (Door 100)

  1. A pattern of switches is briefly displayed in a box
  2. Empty square = leave switch OFF
  3. Filled square = turn switch ON (match the number shown)
  4. Memorize and replicate the pattern

In Super Hard Mode, the puzzle is more challenging but follows the same rules. Practice the memory technique — chunk the pattern into groups of 2-3.

Generator Rooms (The Mines)

  1. Find Fuses scattered in nearby rooms
  2. Install them in the generator to power it and open the next door
  3. If you have a Crowbar (3% spawn), you can skip these entirely

Minecart Track Switching (The Mines)

  1. Use minecarts to break through wooden barricades
  2. Adjust the rail lever/dial to switch tracks toward the correct path
  3. Speedrun technique: send the cart the right way without changing the dial on Door 101

The Nest Anchors (Door 200)

  1. Activate 5-6 Anchors around the area
  2. Figure hunts by sound — crouch-walk everywhere
  3. Place Alarm Clocks away from your position to distract Figure
  4. Be strategic about movement order — plan your route before starting
