Last updated: May 15, 2026. Covers all DOORS alternate game modes (Visions) released in 2026 — Daily Runs, Chaos Mode, Rush Mode, Endless Mode — plus Battle Mode. Includes unlock requirements, scoring systems, reward structures, and strategy breakdowns for each mode.
DOORS Game Modes Overview
DOORS has evolved far beyond the standard Hotel-to-Mines progression. As of 2026, the game features multiple alternate play modes called Visions, selectable from the lobby floor screen. Each Vision transforms the core gameplay loop — some introduce daily competitive leaderboards, others randomize entities for chaos runs, and still others push endurance to the limit.
If you’re new to DOORS, start with our DOORS Beginner Guide to learn the fundamentals before tackling alternate modes.

Daily Runs
Daily Runs are the most accessible alternate mode and the best entry point for players looking to move beyond the standard floors. Each day generates a fresh 20-30 room run with randomized entities from any floor.
How Daily Runs Work
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Reset Time | Every day at 4:00 PM EDT / 8:00 PM UTC |
| Room Count | 20-30 randomized rooms per run |
| Entity Pool | Pulls from all floors — Hotel, Mines, Outdoors |
| Revives | Disabled entirely |
| Gold System | Shared between all players in multiplayer |
| Leaderboard Submissions | Only your first attempt each day counts |
Scoring System
Your Daily Run score determines leaderboard placement. Points do not affect rewards — they are purely for competitive ranking.
| Score Component | Formula |
|---|---|
| Progress | (Rooms traversed / Total rooms) × 10,000 |
| Time Bonus | 500 × (21 − Seconds / 60) |
| Gold Bonus | 2 × Gold collected during the run |
Two separate leaderboards exist: Solo and Multiplayer. Choose based on whether you want individual glory or team coordination.
Rewards
| Reward | How to Earn |
|---|---|
| Escape Bonus | 25 Knobs + 3 bonus Knobs (once per day) |
| Per Room | 1 Knob per room survived |
| Daily Streak | Maintain consecutive days for escalating Knobs, Revives, Stardust, and Boosts |
Daily Streak System
Your streak is visualized as a pixelated green flame above your character in the lobby. The flame visually deteriorates as your streak grows longer — a badge of honor for dedicated runners.
| Streak Days | Reward Tier |
|---|---|
| 1-3 days | Base Knob bonus |
| 4-7 days | Increased Knobs + Revives |
| 8-14 days | Knobs + Revives + Stardust |
| 15+ days | Maximum rewards across all categories |
Daily Runs Strategy
- Treat your first attempt as your only attempt — only the first run submits to the leaderboard, so make it count.
- Prioritize speed over loot — the Time Bonus heavily rewards fast clears. Grab essential items only.
- Know your entity pool — since entities can come from any floor, you need familiarity with Hotel, Mines, and Outdoors threats. See our DOORS Entities Bestiary for complete entity information.
- Coordinate in multiplayer — shared gold means you should assign one player to loot while others clear rooms. Communication reduces redundant pathing.
- Don’t skip days — the streak system rewards consistency more than peak performance.
Chaos Mode (Chaos Vision)
Chaos Mode, released in February 2026, is the wildcard Vision. It throws the standard rulebook out the window with randomized entity spawns and unpredictable combinations.
What Makes Chaos Mode Different
- Entity spawns are fully randomized — you might face Figure on Door 5 or Ambush back-to-back with Rush.
- No predictable patterns — standard entity timing rules do not apply. Rush can spawn without light flickers; Screech can appear in lit rooms.
- Multi-floor entity mixing — entities from Hotel, Mines, and Outdoors all appear in a single run.
- Success is heavily RNG-dependent — even experienced players need multiple attempts.
Chaos Mode Strategy
| Tip | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Always carry a light source | Dark rooms are more dangerous when entity timing is unpredictable |
| Never leave a hiding spot empty-handed | Know the nearest closet at all times — Ambush can spawn with zero warning |
| Crucifix priority changes | Save crucifix for Figure and Seek; Rush is too common to waste it on |
| Expect to die | Players typically need 3-5 attempts for a first clear |
| Play conservatively | Unlike speed-focused modes, Chaos rewards caution and resource hoarding |
| Learn all entity audio cues | With visual cues unreliable, audio becomes your primary warning system |
Chaos Mode Rewards
Chaos Mode completions grant bonus Knobs and exclusive cosmetics. The difficulty makes it more of a challenge mode than a farming method — for efficient Knob grinding, Daily Runs and standard floors are better.
Rush Mode
Released on April 1, 2026 (and no, it wasn’t an April Fool’s joke), Rush Mode cranks the game’s signature entity to maximum frequency.
Rush Mode Mechanics
- Rush spawn frequency is dramatically increased — expect Rush every 3-5 doors instead of every 8-12.
- Multiple Rush variants can spawn simultaneously — you might need to dodge two Rush entities from opposite directions.
- Ambush appears more frequently alongside Rush, creating layered threats.
- Hiding spot durability becomes a factor — closets and beds see much more use, meaning Hide triggers faster.
Rush Mode Strategy
| Strategy | Detail |
|---|---|
| Map your hiding spots | Memorize every closet, bed, and vent location on each floor |
| Rotate hiding spots | Don’t use the same closet twice in a row — Hide becomes aggressive |
| Keep moving | Standing still invites stacked entity spawns |
| Stash spare lockpicks and vitamins | You’ll need speed more than ever |
| Audio is everything | Learn the distinct Rush vs Ambush audio profiles — reacting to the wrong one gets you killed |
CERTIFIED RUSH FAN Achievement
Completing Rush Mode unlocks the CERTIFIED RUSH FAN achievement — a badge worn proudly by the DOORS community’s most dedicated speed-runners.
Endless Mode
Endless Mode is the ultimate endurance test. There’s no exit door, no victory screen — just you against an infinite gauntlet of rooms with escalating difficulty.
Endless Mode Mechanics
- No final door — the mode only ends when you die.
- Rooms loop indefinitely with increasing difficulty scaling.
- Figure and Seek appear as roaming threats at random intervals, not just at fixed checkpoints.
- No Rift access — items cannot be stored or retrieved between sections.
- No Knob multiplier — the base Knob reward remains fixed, making this a poor farming mode but the ultimate bragging-rights challenge.
Difficulty Scaling
| Room Range | Difficulty | What Changes |
|---|---|---|
| 1-30 | Standard | Familiar entity patterns, normal spawn rates |
| 31-60 | Moderate | Entity speed increases, more Ambush spawns |
| 61-100 | Hard | Multiple entity overlaps, reduced hiding time |
| 101-200 | Extreme | Near-constant entity pressure, scarce resources |
| 201+ | Nightmare | Entity combinations that haven’t been officially balanced |
Endless Mode Strategy
- Resource management is critical — every bandage, lockpick, and vitamin matters. There are no refills.
- Learn to survive without hiding — at higher difficulties, hiding spots become death traps due to Hide aggression.
- Line-of-sight dodging becomes essential. Many entities use raycasting — you can survive Rush by standing behind objects rather than hiding.
- Gold is nearly useless — there are few shops in Endless, so don’t risk your life for coins.
- Mental stamina matters — runs past room 100 can take hours. Take breaks between attempts.

Battle Mode
Battle Mode is DOORS’ PvP offering, pitting players against each other in entity-survival competitions.
Battle Mode Overview
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Format | Global matchmaking queue |
| Objective | Survive longer than your opponents |
| Players | 4-8 per match |
| Entity Scaling | Entities become more aggressive as players are eliminated |
| Revives | Disabled — once you’re dead, you’re spectating |
Battle Mode uses a standard Elo-style ranking system. Wins increase your rating; early deaths decrease it. The mode received a revamp in March 2026 with improved matchmaking and new arena layouts.
Which Mode Should You Play?

FAQ
Do Daily Runs reset at the same time for everyone?
Yes. Daily Runs reset globally at 4:00 PM EDT / 8:00 PM UTC. Players in all time zones receive the same seed and entity layout for each day’s run.
Can I earn Knobs in Chaos Mode?
Yes. Chaos Mode completions award Knobs, but the inconsistent clear rate makes it less efficient for farming than Daily Runs or standard floor runs. The mode is primarily for challenge-seeking players.
What happens to my Endless Mode progress if I disconnect?
Endless Mode does not save progress between sessions. A disconnect or game crash ends your run immediately. For long Endless attempts, ensure a stable internet connection and plan your session around the expected run duration.
