Last updated: May 10, 2026. This guide covers the complete technology tree in Palworld, optimal unlock order, Ancient Technology priorities, Statue of Power upgrades, and a full level-by-level progression roadmap from spawn to level 50. See also: Beginner Guide, Base Building Guide.
How the Technology Tree Works
The Technology tree is the primary progression system in Palworld. As you gain levels, you earn Technology Points (TP) that unlock new blueprints for crafting.
Technology Points
| Source | Points Gained | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Leveling up | 1 TP per level (50 total) | Primary source – always spend immediately |
| Technical Manual | 1 TP per manual | Found in dungeons and some bosses |
| Ancient Technology | Separate track | Uses Ancient Civilization Parts, not TP |
How to Spend TP
Open the Technology menu (default key: Tab, then select Technology). Each unlock costs 1 or 2 TP. You cannot respec – plan your unlocks carefully.
Critical rule: You get exactly 50 TP from leveling (50 levels). There are more technologies than 50 TP. Choose wisely.
Optional technologies to skip:
- Stone-tier tools (skip if you can go straight to metal)
- Low-tier armor if you can reach the next tier quickly
- Decorative items (chairs, tables, etc.)
- Early Sphere types once you unlock the next tier

Statue of Power and Lifmunk Effigies
The Statue of Power (unlocked at level 16) allows you to upgrade your capture power and player stats using Lifmunk Effigies.
How It Works
| Mechanic | Details |
|---|---|
| Statue unlock | Technology level 16 (costs 1 TP) |
| Build cost | 20 Stone, 10 Paldium, 10 Ingot |
| Upgrade resource | Lifmunk Effigies (found glowing green around the world) |
| Stats upgraded | Capture Power (primary), Player Defense, Player Max Work Speed |
| Max capture power | Level 10 capture power (requires ~50-60 total effigies) |
Upgrade Breakdown
| Capture Level | Effigies Required (Cumulative) | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | Slight capture power increase |
| 2 | 8 (12 total) | Noticeable improvement |
| 3 | 12 (24 total) | Good capture rate on equal-level Pals |
| 4 | 16 (40 total) | Strong capture rate |
| 5 | 20 (60 total) | Very strong |
| 6 | 24 (84 total) | High efficiency with any sphere |
| 7 | 28 (112 total) | Excellent capture chance |
| 8 | 32 (144 total) | Near-max effectiveness |
| 9 | 36 (180 total) | Minimal difficulty catching anything |
| 10 | 40+ (220+ total) | Maximum capture power |
Player Stat Upgrades
The Statue also allows stat point allocation from catching 10 of each Pal species:
| Bonus | Requirement | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| +1 Defense | Catch 10 of any Pal species | Permanent defense increase |
| +1 Attack | Catch 10 of any Pal species | Permanent attack increase |
| +2 Work Speed | Catch 10 of any Pal species | Permanent work speed increase |
Strategy: Catch 10 of EVERY species you encounter. The stat bonuses from the Statue of Power add up significantly – catching all available Pals to 10 can give you +50+ to each stat permanently.
Lifmunk Effigy Farming Tips
- Best time to farm: Night – effigies glow bright green and are visible from far away.
- Best method: Fly slowly on a flying mount (Nitewing, Faleris, Frostallion) at low altitude.
- Key locations: Cliff edges, behind waterfalls, inside caves, on rock pillars.
