Last updated: May 12, 2026. This guide covers every weapon and armor set in Palworld, including tier-by-tier weapon progression, armor bonuses, material farming locations, and the best endgame loadouts.
Weapons in Palworld
Weapons in Palworld range from primitive bows to powerful assault rifles and rocket launchers. Each weapon has an Attack value, an element type (if applicable), and specific materials required for crafting. Unlike Pals, weapons do not level up – their power is fixed once crafted.
Weapon Categories
| Category | Description | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Melee | Close-range weapons with no ammo cost | Early game, stealth attacks |
| Bows | Ranged weapons using arrows | Mid-game, elemental advantage |
| Crossbows | Higher damage than bows, slower reload | Boss fights, precise shots |
| Firearms | Guns with ammunition requirements | Endgame, high DPS |
| Explosives | Rocket launchers and grenade launchers | Raid bosses, group encounters |
Weapon Tier List: Best Weapons by Level
Tier 1: Early Game (Levels 1-15)
| Weapon | Attack | Level Required | Materials | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stone Axe | 10 | 1 | 5x Wood, 5x Stone | Starting melee tool |
| Stone Pickaxe | 10 | 1 | 5x Wood, 5x Stone | Starting mining tool |
| Old Bow | 15 | 4 | 5x Wood, 5x Stone Arrow | First ranged weapon |
| Stone Spear | 20 | 5 | 5x Wood, 5x Stone | Basic melee, good reach |
| Ruzara Spear | 30 | 10 | 20x Wood, 20x Stone, 10x Fiber | Best pre-metal melee |
| Metal Armor | – | 11 | 20x Leather, 20x Metal Ingot | First armor tier |
Tips for early weapons:
- The Old Bow is your first ranged option at level 4. Craft a workbench first, then the bow immediately.
- Stone Arrows are cheap to craft (1x Stone, 1x Wood per arrow) and sufficient until you unlock better ammo.
- Ruzara Spear (level 10) is the strongest pre-metal melee weapon. It has a long reach that keeps you out of most enemy range.
Tier 2: Mid Game (Levels 16-30)
| Weapon | Attack | Level Required | Materials | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Metal Axe | 45 | 15 | 30x Metal Ingot, 5x Wood | Tool and weapon |
| Metal Pickaxe | 45 | 15 | 30x Metal Ingot, 5x Wood | Tool and weapon |
| Poison Bow | 60 | 20 | 15x Wood, 5x Poison Gland | Inflicts poison DoT |
| Crossbow | 75 | 22 | 40x Metal Ingot, 30x Wood, 20x Leather | High single-target damage |
| Shotgun | 95 | 25 | 50x Metal Ingot, 30x Wood, 15x Powder | Devastating at close range |
| Assault Rifle | 100 | 28 | 60x Metal Ingot, 40x Wood, 25x Gunpowder | Best mid-game DPS |
Key upgrades at this tier:
- Crossbow (level 22): Requires 40 Metal Ingots and an early Assembly Line. Each shot costs 1x Crossbow Ammo. The single-target damage is excellent for boss fights.
- Shotgun (level 25): The most effective weapon against Alpha Pals at medium-close range. Fires 6-8 pellets per shot, each dealing base damage. Total theoretical damage per shot is 570 (95x6).
- Assault Rifle (level 28): Your first automatic weapon. Fires at a rate of roughly 8 rounds per second. Requires significant ammunition investment – each magazine holds 30 rounds, and you’ll burn through them quickly in raids.
Tier 3: Late Game (Levels 31-45)
| Weapon | Attack | Level Required | Materials | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gatling Gun | 120 | 32 | 100x Metal Ingot, 50x Circuit Board, 30x Gunpowder | Sustained DPS king |
| Rocket Launcher | 150 | 35 | 120x Metal Ingot, 60x Circuit Board, 80x Gunpowder | Area damage, high cost per shot |
| Single-Shot Rifle | 140 | 35 | 80x Metal Ingot, 40x Leather, 20x Gunpowder | Precision long-range |
| Grenade Launcher | 110 | 33 | 90x Metal Ingot, 50x Circuit Board, 40x Gunpowder | AoE crowd control |
| Bow Gun | 90 | 30 | 40x Wood, 30x Fiber, 15x Metal Ingot | Hybrid bow/gun, elemental arrows |
Late game weapon analysis:
- Gatling Gun: Requires a Circuit Board Assembly Line (unlocked via Ancient Technology). Uses High Grade Assault Rifle Ammo. The sustained DPS of roughly 960 per second makes it the best sustained DPS weapon in the game, but the ammo consumption is brutal.
- Rocket Launcher: Each rocket costs roughly 200-300 gold in materials. Against raid bosses with 10,000+ HP, this is your fastest option. The explosive splash also damages nearby Pals, making it ideal for Pal raiding.
- Single-Shot Rifle: The most ammo-efficient endgame weapon. Each shot deals 140 base damage and costs one rifle bullet. Ideal for headshot builds and precision sniping.
Tier 4: Endgame (Levels 46-50)
| Weapon | Attack | Level Required | Materials | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Double-Barreled Shotgun | 200 | 40 | 100x Metal Ingot, 60x High Quality Pal Oil, 40x Gunpowder | Highest single-shot damage |
| Multi-Guided Missile Launcher | 180 | 45 | 150x Metal Ingot, 80x Circuit Board, 100x Gunpowder | Homing rockets, 3 per shot |
| Laser Rifle | 130 | 42 | 120x Metal Ingot, 70x Pure Quartz, 50x Circuit Board | Energy weapon, no ammo cost (uses battery) |
| Decal Gun | 10 | 38 | 30x Metal Ingot, 20x Circuit Board | Utility only, no combat value |
Endgame weapon priorities:
- Double-Barreled Shotgun: Fires two shells simultaneously, each dealing 200 base damage. At point-blank range, a single trigger pull deals 400 damage. This is the highest single-shot damage weapon in Palworld, but the 2-round capacity means you must reload constantly.
- Multi-Guided Missile Launcher: Fires three homing missiles per shot, each tracking the nearest target. Total damage per volley: 540 (180x3). Excellent against fast-moving bosses that dodge other weapons.
- Laser Rifle: Uses energy cells instead of conventional ammo. Each cell provides roughly 30 shots before needing recharge. Lower base damage but zero material cost for ammo makes it the most sustainable endgame option.
