Your First Hour: The Three Things That Actually Matter

PS99 drops you into the Spawn World with a single weak pet, zero coins, and a screen full of icons you don’t understand. Here’s what to ignore: the Trading Plaza (not yet), the enchantment machine (not yet), the rebirth system (definitely not yet), and anything that costs Robux.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Hatch eggs. Immediately. The first egg is free. Hatch it. Now you have 2 pets.
  2. Walk into the coin zone. Your pets will auto-farm. Collect coins.
  3. Hatch more eggs from the current area until you have 5 pets. Don’t worry about which egg — at this stage, any egg is a good egg. The goal is filling your pet slots, not optimizing pet quality.
  4. Move to the next area when the current area’s breakables die in under 2 seconds. You’re over-farming a zone when your pets one-shot everything. Move forward.

The single most important number in your first hour: breakables destroyed per minute. Not pet quality. Not coin total. The more you break, the more coins and items you get. Every second spent standing between zones is wasted progression.

The Rebirth Trap (And When to Actually Do It)

At Area 25 in the Spawn World, you unlock Rebirth 1. A tutorial popup tells you rebirthing gives permanent bonuses. It sounds amazing.

Here’s what the tutorial doesn’t tell you: rebirthing resets you to Area 1 with zero coins. Your pets stay — but your area progress is gone. If you rebirth with 500 coins in the bank, you’ll spend the next 45 minutes slowly crawling back to Area 25, earning fewer coins than if you’d just stayed.

When to Rebirth

You’re ready when you can do this: enter Area 1 after rebirth, immediately buy the best egg available, equip the pets, and reach Area 10 within 5 minutes. This requires roughly 50,000-100,000 coins saved BEFORE rebirthing.

Gems: What to Actually Spend Them On

Gems are PS99’s premium currency. You earn them slowly from breakables, achievements, and events. You’ll accumulate maybe 50,000-100,000 in your first week.

The Purchase Priority Trap

The shop sells dozens of things for Gems. Most of them are traps:

ItemCostVerdict
Ultra Egg100K GemsSkip. 0.01% Huge chance. You’ll open hundreds and get nothing.
Exclusive Egg400K GemsSkip for week 1. Save this for later.
Huge Potion50K GemsMaybe. +200% Huge luck for 1 hour. Use during events when base Huge rates are already boosted.
Lucky Potion10K GemsBuy a few. +100% Luck for 1 hour. Good value during active grinding sessions.
Enchant Potion25K GemsSkip for now. Enchanting is mid-game optimization.

The best early Gem spend: 5-10 Lucky Potions (50K-100K Gems total). Pop one during your longest grinding session of the day. The 2x Luck effectively doubles your rare drop rate for an hour. It’s the only Gem purchase that directly accelerates your early progression.

The Trading Plaza: When to Start

The Trading Plaza unlocks at… actually, there’s no level requirement. You can walk in at Area 1. Should you?

No. Entering the Trading Plaza with 50K Gems and trying to trade is like walking into a car dealership with $50. You’ll be ignored or scammed.

When to enter: When you have 500K+ Gems or a tradable pet worth keeping. The Plaza’s real value for beginners is buying cheap Huges — not trading. A low-tier Huge (like Huge Hell Rock or Huge Cat) costs 20-30M Gems from other players. It sounds like a lot. It is a lot. But it’s a guaranteed Huge — no RNG, no event timing, no luck. You just need the Gems.
