You are standing at the Blox Fruit Dealer in Second Sea. You have 1.2 million Beli — enough for exactly one Legendary fruit. Your cursor hovers between Buddha and Magma. The chat window is full of players arguing: “Buddha is the only grinding fruit that matters” vs “Magma melts Sea Beasts, don’t waste your Beli on Buddha.” You need to pick one because you cannot afford both, and you are going to live with this decision for the next 200 levels. ...

You sail out of Tiki Outpost for the first time. The water is calm. Your compass ticks up: Danger 1. Thirty seconds later, the screen shakes and a Sea Beast erupts from the water in front of you. You land a few hits, it drops 180 Fragments and 75,000 Beli, and you think: this is easy money. Then you get cocky. You sail farther. Danger 4. The sky darkens. A Terror Shark rams your boat from underneath — one hit deletes half your HP before you even see it. You try to jump onto a nearby island, but an Electric Storm chain-stuns you mid-air. You die. Thirty seconds of sailing later, the water churns and a Sea Beast erupts in front of your boat — 25,000 HP, a slow telegraph on its bite attack, and a death animation that drops 180 Fragments plus 85,000 Beli.
